With the rapid change occurring in the industry, we need a place where we can meet to share our experiences, challenges and solutions. At CloudCamp, you are encouraged to share your thoughts in several open discussions, as we strive for the advancement of Cloud Computing. End users, IT professionals and vendors are all encouraged to participate.

Register for CloudCamp Aarhus 2011, Oct 11, 2011

CloudCamp Aarhus is a free event to enter for everyone interested in Cloud Computing. The event will take place at Musikhuset in Aarhus, Denmark, coincide with the usergroup meetups at the GOTO Aarhus conference. Note: You don’t need to have a GOTO ticket to join our CloudCamp, it’s free for everybody.

Michael Friis, Co-founder of AppHarbor, the .NET Platform as a Service, will give a lightning talk about how to easily integrate and automate your deployment process to make it painless and fast. The session will be followed by the presentation of Janus Dam Nielsen, Research and Innovation Scientist at the Center for IT Security at the Alexandra Institute, on how cryptography provides solutions to some cloud computing security concerns. Then Andrei Yurkevich, CTO of Altoros, will compare cloud and regular hosting to provide the pros and cons for start-ups. Peter Lunding Smith, Chief Cloud Advisor at ProActive A/S, will touch upon business opportunities in the cloud.

The event is supported by Altoros, a global software delivery acceleration specialist and an early adopter of the cutting-edge technologies and trends, including Ruby on Rails, Cloud Computing and NoSQL.

About Michael Friis
Michael is co-founder of AppHarbor, the .NET Platform as a Service. AppHarbor was founded in 2010 with the goal of building Heroku for .NET. Michael has been a .NET developer since 2005, first at Netcompany and then at series of start-ups and at a Danish newspaper. He has presented at .NET conferences on several occasions and has written a range of articles on .NET development.

About Janus Dam Nielsen
Janus Dam Nielsen is a Research and Innovation Scientist at the Center for IT Security at the Alexandra Institute. Janus works with implementations of cryptographic protocols and IT security, focusing on those related to Cloud and Mobile Computing. Janus has a PhD from the University of Aarhus, where he worked in the intersection of programming languages and cryptography.

About Peter Lunding Smith
For the last 12 years Peter has been working with business development and IT - strategies for innovative companies and organizations. As Chief Cloud Advisor, Peter is responsible for envisioning, scoping and designing Cloud business projects. Peter has a talent for inventing new business services and inspiring his customers to adapt and profit of the newest technologies. Lately Peter has been deeply involved in how Cloud Computing, Office365 and other Software + Services can help customers achieve their visions and release IT resources.

About Andrei Yurkevich
With 10+ years in the software development industry, Andrei Yurkevich serves as President and Chief Technology Officer at Altoros, a global software delivery acceleration specialist and an early adopter of the cutting-edge technologies and trends, including Ruby on Rails, Cloud Computing and NoSQL. He is responsible for the dedicated team program execution. Andrei successfully implemented strategies for motivation systems design, personnel performance management, software product development and marketing, teambuilding, product start-ups, strategic planning, as well as creating and executing roadmaps for several software products.
